Kayak Below the Cliffs

Cliffs along the Potomac

Explore the natural and cultural wonders of Horsehead Cliffs in a flat-water kayak on the Potomac, Westmoreland county. It's easy for beginners and only $16 per single kayak and $22 per double kayak. Wednesdays 6-8 pm, Sundays 10 am-noon in season, and 1st & 3rd Saturdays 10 am-noon May-October. Pre-register by calling 1-800-933-PARK up to one day prior to the trip.

Irvington Stomp

The Irvington Stomp originated 6 years ago to celebrate the annual grape harvest at White Fences and to bring together old friends, new friends and neighbors in a small-town event. Your whole family will enjoy stomping grapes – kids especially. Entertainment on the day includes Wings Over Washington kite show, sky divers, crab races, dog show, hay rides, and face painting. Singer/songwriter Robbin Thompson in concert at 6pm: bring a blanket or chairs, but no coolers. Sandwiches, ice cream and soft drinks as well as Meteor wine will be available for purchase during the festival. Hours 3:30 to 8 pm. Admission: adults $10, kids $5, under 6 free.
