Dragon Run Inn

Dragon Run Inn - What's in a name?

Our home was built in 1913 of cypress from the Dragon Run Swamp. The logs were brought onto the property and milled on site. The Dragon boasts the largest stand of cypress this far north and canoeists love it. The Friends of the Dragon Run is an organization that works to preserve its pristine condition and allows us an opportunity to enjoy nature. Click on their website, and call their paddlemaster if you want a great tour guide.

Who are our prospective guests?

Friends we haven't met from all over the globe and from all walks of life.

Who are the innkeepers?

We're Ivan and Sue Hertzler, just two great-grandparents who enjoy country living and making new friends. The old farmhouse allows us room when the family wants to come home for a visit and to make new friends the rest of the year. We enjoy having our grandchildren visit and also open our inn to families and take children of all ages. With 5 acres to run and play on it makes an ideal location for small family reunions. One of Ivan's hobbies is making picnic tables, so there is always a place to hold a picnic. Ivan says "Sue's mission in life is to feed people and she's good at it". You'll never go away hungry. You might say we are just big kids ourselves. We enjoy decorating the inn for all holidays, especially Christmas with a theme tree in every room and just having fun with our family and guests.
